It’s been a while since I last posted something in here. As I was busy with a lot of other things at the moment. Never the less, teaching eBay has been a fun experience for me over the past few years. So far for the past 2 years, I was asked to speak in Inti College as well as Unimas. Basically just telling the future entrepreneurs what they could do while waiting or looking for a job. And did a mini workshop with them on how to start their very own business.

For the past a year and half, I’ve been taking a break from teaching due to focusing on a new business which has eventually come to pass. And of course, a good space where I would be able to conduct classes. Yes, I’ve gotten a new place where I can finally pursue my passion in teaching. So be sure to check in here often, as I will be updating my workshop for 2012. Where I will be able to help and guide you in starting your very own online business!

First and fore most I would like to wish everyone who visit this website a Blessed 2011 New Year. And this year, will be a more exciting year for me as I intend to go full scale in 2-3 months time. Due to internet connection problems for the group workshop, I’m now keeping back to one to one online for now. But never the less, do look forward to 2011 as the economy begins to strengthen. And frankly speaking, orders from my side have been picking up as well.

Since most of the free webserver does come with webmail now, it does has it’s limitation. Well for starters, if you were to send an email using their services chances of your email reaching your clients are slim as most of the time it will end up in their junk mail or spam box. So fortunately for us Google have given us Google Apps, which will enable you to save your headache and use their services instead. So let’s get started.

Enter Domain name

01. Head over this site https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/domain/new , select Administrator : I own the domain name and enter your domain name. After that click Get Started

.

Organization Example

02. Once you reached the next page. Just fill up the Account Administration details. For the Organization Information, is optional. But you can fill it up if you already have a company. Just follow the above illustration on how to get started and click continue.

Creating Admin Account

03. Create your administrator account for google apps. In this case, try to not to use username such as admin or administrator. As normally people will tend to hack your email that way. So create something out of the blue and never use this email to send to anyone. Just remember that this is to manage your google apps only, you can create another email admin later for that purpose. Once you’re done just click on agree the terms and condition buttons and continue.

Verify Your Account

04. You will be brought to this following page on verifying your account. Click continue.

[caption id="" align="" ]
ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.

From your google apps account

Waiting to verify

10. It should direct you to this page, and now open a new page to access your cz.cc (http://www.nic.cz.cc/login.php)

11. Sign in and then go to the Registered Domain. Then click on Manage (like the previous method post). But this time, instead of clicking on Nameserver, click on Zone Records instead.

Adding Zone Records

12. Here, what you need to do is type in the name that you enter on step 08. Change the record type to CNAME, and then enter the content to ghs.google.com. And then click on create Zone record. And you’re done for this part already.

13. Head back to the google apps page (please refer to Step 10) and then click on I’ve completed these steps. So now you can access your email with the domain name you assigned for the google apps.

We’re done here. So next stop, installing a shopping cart to your newly built website.

You might be wondering why it is important to have your own website, since you’re selling on eBay already. Well, one factor here is that not only it increases your credibility but also provide you another platform in marketing your product. There are two things for you to consider when setting up your own website which are domain name & web-hosting.

Domain Name

Basically this will be your brand name whereby people will remember you for. If you already have a company, you could use your company name as your Domain Name. Example my company is 328 Gallery Sdn. Bhd., so I decide to use http://www.328gallery.com as my domain name. For more details on domain names you may consider going through Wikipedia to find out more. At the moment you can either opt for a paid domain or a free domain instead. Again this comes with credibility issues if you would prefer to get a paid or a free domain instead. My suggestion is that you may want to try to use free options first before going into paid services. The reason is because you might want to sort of “test water” to see how your website performs later.

Free Domain Names :-
1. cz.cc – Free & quite new as a lot of domain names still available.
2. co.cc – Free for personal usage, but requires to pay for commercial.

Paid Domain Names :-
1. Exabytes – Consist of local domain name such as .com.my & etc.
2. RisingNic

After you have signed up with either one of the domain names, it’s time to look for a place to host your website. Again, you can either opt for a paid server or a free one instead. The difference between paid and free web servers is that, for paid servers you will get support whereby for free servers you won’t. You would also like to consider the location of your web server where it is currently located. As it determines on the majority of your future potential clients will come from. But for now, free servers are always good to start off your website.

Free website :-
1. 000Webhost - Server located in US

Paid Website :-
1. 328Tech - Server located in US
2. Exabytes- Server located in Malaysia

The illustration that I will be using below is based on the domain name cz.cc and 000Webhost.

01.

Dear all,

It’s been a while since I last updated this website due to time as well as I was busy with other work at the moment. And I have temporary disable the free course for the time being, as there seems to be a lot of non-genuine sellers which makes my job difficult. Anyway, I will be reopening the free course soon once I set up a proper system. But in the mean time while I’m updating the latest information on eBay, I shall briefly inform you on the latest services that I’m currently providing.

As you all know that, I only do one to one or group workshop which are currently situation in Kuching. But with the help of technology right now, I will be able to teach you through webinars. What is a webinar you may ask? It’s like a seminar, but it will be conducted through a website where you will be sitting comfortably at home while I do my presentations as well as your practical on how to sell your item on eBay at the same time.

How this works is that, you will be able to actually see what I’m doing and I will be conversing with you with my microphone so you would be able to hear me as well. So it is suggested that you should use a headset with a microphone so that you will be able to talk to me as well or ask questions during the webinar is conducted.

The good news is that, the course will indeed be cheaper, plus you’ll be getting the same amount of things that I’ve included with the package. And this will be a very exciting beginning for me, not only that I am able to teach but also able to follow up with the help of forums where I will be personally managing it.

Another service I’m offering is a mentoring programme where I will help you do the initial work in getting your eBay site running as well as developing a shopping cart site for you if you don’t have one yet. This will be a 3 months course, whereby I will help you manage your eBay account, all you need to do is check when the money goes in you ship out the item. For more information check out the Mentoring Programme for more information.

Anyway, if you have any further questions feel free to contact me via the contact us page. And I will get back to you as soon as possible. At the moment I’m targeting to have my first webinar some time in middle or end of July to see the numbers. It will be conducted 3 times a week, so in case the class is full (max of 5 participants) you can be rescheduled for the next class session.

My classes can be conducted in English, Chinese as well as Malay if required, as I have other associates also education specialist to assist you in your course. If you would like to find out more about this courses, please use the contact us page to let me know if you are interested.

I’ve made a withdrawal from Paypal to CIMB bank last week which was on the 29th January. From their website they state it will take 2-3 working days. Now take note that working days does not include Saturday & Sunday. So anyway, since I withdraw it on the 29th which falls on Thursday, I was like thinking maybe I will be able to get my funds by Monday. But unfortunately I never got it until today. Yes, it took me 6 working days to receive my funds from Paypal. However from what I was told, normally the first withdrawal takes a little bit longer. But once you withdraw the 2nd time it will be faster. So I’m not too sure about that, maybe will try and see how it goes.

Surprisingly when I opened up my account to check, it stated IBG Credit. So I guess it’s considered a local transfer rather than international transfer. Who knows, but I do get complaints from people stating that the exchange rate is very low. Yes, I do agree with that the exchange rates are not reasonable but I guess they pretty much included the transfer fees or bank charges that could incurred during the transfer. Never the less, I always tell people to set your own exchange rates. So normally when I sell stuff online especially in USD, I would charge my clients about 1 USD = RM3.1 or RM3.2. So at least when I do a conversion through Paypal it wouldn’t be so bad, but ended up earning a little bit from the exchange rates. So why are you complaining about? Banks exchange rates are not that good either, so you’ve just got to learn how to give and take.

Anyway, I wouldn’t want to go into more details on that. But here’s the proof of my withdrawal, and of course this time I need to clear a bit, because it’s a little bit sensitive showing how much I withdraw this time round. Hehehe. Anyway, I did another withdrawal as well on the 2nd of February to Maybank account, as I heard it was faster. Well, I’ll just wait and see.

Oh before I forget, the swift code for CIMB Bank is CIBBMYKL. Apparently previously Paypal made a mistake in placing the swift code information. Anyway, they have fixed it already and I was able to withdraw no problems. So don’t just sit there, start selling and get some extra cash for this coming Chinese New Year

Yes, apparently it has already been a few days after the New Year and I hope everyone is doing well. Never the less, I would like to wish everyone a Blessed New Year. I’ve always look forward for the New Year as it always gives me hope to start off something fresh and of course leave everything negative behind. So let us all start a fresh and shake off what ever discouragement we have from last year, and try again this year.

Happy New Year

So what will I have been doing for the past few weeks was that, I’m actually going to have an open seminar whereby I’ll be introducing eBay to people. I’ve already have the venue, but I’m still waiting for the green light by them. As I believe they are also trying to gather as many people to attend this brief promo. So I’m looking forward to that event which I think will happen hopefully within the next few weeks.

I’m also experimenting another method on how to sell on eBay, and we shall see how it will turn out. Basically it’s a new account, so I’m sort of like starting from scratch again. Anyway, I’m opened to questions so feel free to drop me a message or leave a comment and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Wishing all of you a Blessed New Year once more.

As most of the time I would end up referring all of you to my other associates.

Anyway, just to update what actually have been happening for the past year was that I’ve been trying to adjust my lifestyle especially with the baby around. Yes, that was mainly the reason why I have been a bit quiet in this section here. As a lot of adjustment needed to be made. And of course the time selling on eBay is also a bit difficult for me due to certain time have been taken just to take care of the little one. Not that I’m complaining or anything, as a matter a fact it was indeed a good and fun experience for me. But never the less, work is still important and my baby girl is already 1 years ++. So I can start to go back teaching once again, something which I have miss for a very long time.

I’m currently experimenting a new method in listing my products and trying to see how the outcome would be. And also I’m currently repackaging my course fees as well as methods of teaching. There will still be a free course, but just to let you know that eBay won’t be paying for the phone bills anymore. So I guess we need to resort to Skype or MSN or any other instant messengers that support voice.

For group courses, I will be planning to do a bit of traveling in the near future. So most likely I’ll be flying around Sarawak. And if I so by happened to be in your town or city, I won’t mind staying another extra 2-3 days to hold a course. So do check me out in a couple of weeks, as how I will plan for my year 2010 program specially just for you. For personal or group seminars do contact me via the contact page and I’ll get in touch with you soon.

Thank you for continuous support, and I hope to see all of you soon.
